30th September 2004 - one part of my heart was ripped off - losing dad

15th September 2013 - another part was ripped off - losing mom

Now...all that is left of me...is a soulless person who does not possess emotions or feelings

Do you get annoyed when your life sucks and someone says - don't worry, I understand. just forget it. Be strong.

 

Gosh... I feel like strangling these people sometime!

 

 

You Don't Understand Unless You've Been Through The Same or You're In The Same Shit !

 

Bottom line - You don’t know what that’s like. There’s no way for you to know because you don’t understand what that’s like. So don't say to me “I know what you’re going through” unless you can become me or until you honestly do. Don't offer advices or wise words. It useless & annoying.

When someone goes thru pain, stop being an expert and start being a friend. LISTEN. They just need someone to share what's going thru their mind and how their hearts are broken. JUST BE THERE. Assure them you are there for them. ASK. It will be better if they tell you what they need instead of you deciding what is best for them. CONFIDENTIALITY. Don't tell the whole world what they told you. Keep it to your self. EMPATHIZE. You may not be in the same shoes, but at least try to look at things from their viewpoint.

 

I am one of those people who feel very reluctant to share my pain with others...especially friends. Not that I don't trust them.. it's just that I don't know who will understand me. Sometimes, I face the problem of friends giving me all sort of advice when they don't even know what I am going thru.

 

 It is said that pain is inevitable but suffering is optional....But then again...

Sometimes we need to be hurt in order to grow. We must fail in order to know.
We must lose in order to gain. Some lessons are learned best through pain. Sometimes we expect more from others, because we’d be willing to do much more for them; and as we grow older we don’t lose friends, we just learn who the real ones are.

Funny thing is the people who hurt us the most are / were the people who swore they never would. For all that had happen - I will always be glad & thankful. At least I knew. Better late than never. That's just me. And...I'm glad.
